The Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC) has made some changes to the instructions for plans paying premiums for plan years beginning in 2023, including instructions for each data element that must be reported.
The filing requirements for 2023 are almost identical to those for 2022. Nonetheless, there still are some key changes to note for 2023.
Premium Rates. The following changes were made for premiums:
*Multiemployer plans do not pay variable-rate premiums.
**Premium rates for CSEC plans are not indexed; therefore, those rates have not changed.
Email Address. The Premium Customer Service email address has changed from [email protected] to [email protected]. Emails sent to the old address will be forwarded to the new mailbox.
Overnight Delivery of Paper Premium Payment Checks. The address for overnight deliveries of paper premium checks is changing, effective Oct. 6, 2023.
