Swisher Exits Pentegra, Launches Waypoint Fiduciary

Pete Swisher, one of the retirement industry’s most respected voices, announced Feb. 13 the launch of Waypoint Fiduciary LLC, a “think tank, consultant, and expert fiduciary” for the U.S. retirement system.

Waypoint’s first engagements are with associations and distributors focused on group retirement plan strategies—MEPs, PEPs, “groups of plans,” group trusts and other pooled programs—but the firm's full scope of services includes an emphasis on systems consulting and specialized research for product builders and global strategists.

A prolific author and  speaker, Swisher is widely recognized as one of the top experts in the U.S. with respect to MEPs and their newest subtype, Pooled Employer Plans. At Pentegra, he served as Senior Vice President and was National Sales Director from 2012 to 2018 and National Practice Leader from 2019 until leaving the firm on Feb. 13, 2020. At Pentegra he led efforts that brought the firm to national prominence as a leader in fiduciary administration (i.e., service as a 3(16) plan administrator) and MEPs.
