RFP Issued for Program Consulting Services for CalSavers

Government Affairs
The California Secure Choice Retirement Savings Investment Board has issued a request for proposals (RFP) for program consulting services for CalSavers, the state-sponsored program for employees whose employers do not offer a retirement plan.

The Board intends Request for Proposals No. CSCRSIB02-20 for Program Consulting Services for the CalSavers Retirement Savings Program to help it select a contractor to provide it with strategic and administrative consultation services. The Board says that it needs a qualified general consultant, including a registered municipal advisor, to provide expertise on the state-run retirement program industry, including:

  • trends;
  • marketing and distribution strategies; and
  • program comparison analyses.
The Board also says that it needs a consultant to provide educational training in the areas of governance and fiduciary liability, as well as a resource to the Executive Director and program staff for consultation and review of ad-hoc projects.

The consultant the Board selects will be under the management of the CalSavers Executive Director and  will be expected to consult and provide strategic direction to the Board at the Executive Director’s request.

The Board is accepting RFPs through 4:00 p.m. on June 12.
