PBGC Modifies My PAA Login Method

Government Affairs

The Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC) has modified the way that users can log in to My PAA, an app they can use to perform a variety of functions and meet a number of requirements.

On August 22, 2022, the PBGC modified My PAA to enable users to log in to it via Login.gov.  To do so, one first must set up a Login.gov account and use those credentials to log in to My PAA instead of using one’s current My PAA login credentials. Login.gov is a secure sign-in service used by the public to sign in to participating government agencies.

Transition Period

The PBGC says that in order to facilitate a smooth transition, for a limited period after August 22, 2022, users will also be able to access their My PAA account using their current credentials (i.e., existing My PAA username and password). But beginning on Monday, Nov. 21, 2022, the only way to access a My PAA account will be by using Login.gov credentials.

About My PAA

My PAA — a.k.a. My Plan Administration Account — is a secure Web-based application that enables pension plan professionals to electronically submit premium filings, payments, and requests to the PBGC.

My PAA comes in handy, since the PBGC's mandatory filing requirements apply to all types of filings, including both original and amended filings.
