EPCRS, Determination Letters, Distribution Rules & More

So much happening – and there’s an easy way to catch up.

A week ago, the IRS made significant changes to EPCRS by issuing Revenue Procedure (Rec. Proc.) 2019-19, effective immediately – we’re talking self-correction of some of the more common failures relating to participant loans and plan amendments.

There’s also been an expansion of the individual determination letter program as covered in the new Rev. Proc. 2019-20, some new distribution rules, movement on retirement legislation on the Hill, hints of a new fiduciary rule from the Labor Department – and there’s always something new to learn about controlled groups and affiliated service groups.
