ATTN: QKA® is Now a Registered Trademark

Inside ASPPA

We are pleased to announce that ASPPA’s QKA® credential name is now a federally registered trademark!

Here’s how credential holders should use the trademark symbols (online and in print):

  • Use the registered trademark symbol — ® —when using “QKA” (e.g., QKA®)
  • Use the common law trademark symbol — ™ — when using “Qualified 401(k) Administrator” (e.g., Qualified 401(k) Administrator™)

Note that while the long-form Qualified 401(k) Administrator™ credential name is still a trademark, it is not federally registered yet, so a different symbol needs to be used when the name of the credential is spelled out, per the instructions below.

Your use of the ® and ™ symbols strengthens our claim on our trademark rights and ensures that the designation you worked hard to earn maintains its importance and recognition in the marketplace.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact Customer Care.

New Credential Badging

We’re also excited to let you know that ASPPA has created a digital badge for its Qualified 401(k) Administrator™ (QKA®) credential. This week you will receive instructions on how to use the free badge — available through Credly — which is a visual representation of the knowledge and skills you acquired while earning your QKA® credential.

QKC, QPA, and CPC Credential Holders

We will be rolling out additional digital badges for our QKC, QPA, and CPC credentials in early 2022.  Be on the lookout for information on those in the new year.
