PBGC Seeks Input on Implementation of Multiemployer Plan Rules

The Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation is seeking input on the implementation of the Multiemployer Pension Reform Act (MPRA) of 2014. The MPRA, enacted Dec. 16, 2014, included provisions that amended ERISA by replacing the rules for the partition of multiemployer plans and adding rules for mergers of multiemployer plans. The PBGC is interested in comments on the application of these provisions. The PGBC made the request on Feb. 18.

Among those whose views the PBGC seeks are multiemployer plan participants and beneficiaries, organizations serving or representing such individuals, multiemployer plan sponsors and professional advisors, contributing employers, unions and other interested parties.
