Speaker: Ronald J. Triche, Esq., APM, ASPPA, Arlington, VA

On August 29, 2013, IRS issued Revenue Ruling 2013-17 and two sets of FAQs regarding the treatment of same-sex married couples under the Internal Revenue Code.  The guidance, which is effective on September 16, 2013, specifically addresses how same-sex married couples (as well as same-sex couples in domestic partnerships and civil unions) must be treated for employee benefit plan purposes.  Please join Ronald J. Triche, Assistant General Counsel and Director of Government Affairs of ASPPA, on September 11, 2013 to learn more about the effects the new rules will have on the administration of employee benefit plans.
