The IRS is seeking comments on Form 5306-A, Application for Approval of Prototype Simplified Employee Pension (SEP) or Savings Incentive Match Plan for Employees of Small Employers (SIMPLE IRA Plan). The IRS is pursuing changes to the form due to updated information on the number of actual filers of the form.
Banks, credit unions, insurance companies and trade or professional associations use the form to apply for approval of a SEP plan or a SIMPLE plan to be used by more than one employer. The data collected is used to determine if the prototype plan submitted is an approved plan.
The IRS will accept written comments through May 30, 2017. They should be mailed to:
