The webcast is designed to offer registrants 2 ASPPA CE credits.

Enrolled Actuaries

The webcast is designed to offer registrants 2 JBEA CE credits for Enrolled Actuaries. The final decision as to the number and type of JBEA credits rests solely with the Joint Board for the Enrollment of Actuaries.

Enrolled Retirement Plan Agent (ERPA)

The webcast is designed to offer registrants 2 ERPA CE credits.

Continuing Education Changes for RECORDED Webcast Attendees

Once registered, attendees will receive a confirmation letter directing them to the “Access Recorded Webcasts” page with a link to the WebEx OnDemand Center. Each registered viewer will be tracked when they log in with their name and email address. The webcast link will expire once the attendee has satisfied the CE requirement. CE credits will be applied to their record on a periodic basis and a certificate of attendance will be available on each attendee's My ASPPA page.

ABOUT THE SPEAKERS

R. Bradford Huss, Esq.

Brad is a member of the San Francisco law firm of Trucker Huss, A Professional Corporation, which practices exclusively in the fields of ERISA and employee benefits. He concentrates his practice on qualified pension and profit sharing plans, ERISA litigation, fiduciary responsibility matters and Department of Labor investigations. Brad has spoken numerous times throughout the country on qualified plan and fiduciary responsibility matters and has testified before the United States Senate Finance Committee concerning retirement security issues. He is a charter fellow and a former member of the Board of Governors of the American College of Employee Benefits Counsel. Brad is a past member of the Board of Directors of the American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries, a former chair of the Employee Benefits Committee of the Section of Tort Trial and Insurance Practice of the American Bar Association and a past President of the San Francisco Chapter of the Western Pension & Benefits Council.

Nicholas J. White, Esq.

Nick is special counsel with Trucker Huss. He has over 16 years experience in advising plan sponsors, fiduciaries and their service providers on ERISA and other employee benefits matters. Prior to entering private practice, Nick worked for the IRS in what is now known as the Tax Exempt & Government Entities Division, where he served on the Technical Review Staff. Ultimately, Nick became the coordinator of the IRS’ Western Region Walk-in Closing Agreement Program, which is now part of the Voluntary Correction Program.

Nick is a current member of the Government Affairs Committee of the American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries (ASPPA) and he is a past member of both the Executive Committee and the Board of Directors of ASPPA. Nick frequently speaks at conferences held by ASPPA, the National Institute of Pension Administrators and other industry organizations. Nick served on the Editorial Advisory Board for Thompson Publishing Company and he was the Contributing Editor for Thompson’s Pension Plan Fix-it Handbook. He has also written on employee benefits topics for the Journal of Taxation, the Journal of Pension Benefits and other industry publications.
