Comment Period on DOL Fiduciary Proposal Closes Sept. 24

The period during which the Department of Labor’s Employee Benefit Security Administration (EBSA) will accept public comments on the fiduciary proposal closes on Sept. 24.

A comment may be submitted through one of the following methods:

• Email: [email protected]; include ZRIN 1210-ZA25 in the subject line of the message;

• Federal eRulemaking Portal: go to http://www.regulations.gov and follow the instructions for submitting comments; or

• Mail or Hand Delivery/Courier: send or deliver to: Office of Regulations and Interpretations, Employee Benefits Security Administration, Attn: Conflict of Interest Rule, Room N-5655, U.S. Department of Labor, 200 Constitution Avenue NW., Washington, DC 20210.

EBSA has updated the public comments on the proposed fiduciary rule that are available on its site. The DOL had accepted comments through July 21, but then reopened the public comment period. It has posted 260 comments that it received between July 22 and September 16. As of September 16, it had received 2,852.
