Description: Plan documents play an important role in ensuring compliance with the tax qualification rules. Whether you deal with 401(a)/(k) plans, defined benefit plans, 403(b) plans or 457(b) plans, keeping up-to-date on plan document issues is vital for plan sponsors and practitioners. In this webcast, we will discuss timely plan restatements and interim amendments, options when a plan sponsor misses a document deadline, and other important plan document issues.

About the Speaker: John P. Griffin, J.D. and LL.M. (Taxation) has over 35 years of experience in the employee benefits field. Currently, John is a Principal with the ASC Institute (ASCi). Prior to joining ASCi, John was a Principal with the pension consulting firm Global Benefit Advisors, LLC, a Vice President with Pension Publications of Denver, Inc. (PPD) and a Senior Consultant with the benefit consulting practice of Coopers & Lybrand. Before entering private consulting, John worked in the Employee Plans Division of the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) as a Tax Law Specialist. John also has seven years of experience with the U.S. Department of Labor.  John is a frequent speaker in the employee benefits field.  John received his J.D. and LL.M. (Taxation) from the Georgetown University Law Center.  John is an active member of the Colorado Bar. John has five children and lives in Colorado.
