Catching Up With …Director of Editorial Content Joey Santos-Jones

ASEA Monthly

It's an unbelievable honor to join the American Retirement Association (ARA) and the American Society of Enrolled Actuaries (ASEA) teams. In my short time with ASEA, I've had the pleasure of working with Alan Stone and Elizabeth Duda, both incredibly talented and working very hard to further the Association's growth. The thought process has always consistently been, what more can we do?

As the Director of Editorial Content, I will be taking over for John Ortman, who did an unparalleled job for all the associations he worked with.

I'm a graduate of the University of Florida with a B.S. in Journalism and still call Florida home. There are rarely cold days here, which makes me envious of those in Arlington, but I'm sure most would say the inverse about Florida.

I previously worked at 401(k) Specialist Magazine alongside the new Chief Content Officer, John Sullivan, for five years. During this time, we helped grow 401(k) Specialist Magazine into one of the largest publications in the industry. We hope to use all our resources to help grow ARA and, especially, ASEA.

I've worked in content-oriented positions for almost a decade and look to bring in some digital aspects which will help bring more visibility and opportunities for members.

I'm the father of three daughters and my wife is an educator in early learning. I enjoy running, watching baseball and drawing in my spare time.

With this new position, I still have much to learn from members. As I take in everything, I want to make myself as available as possible. Please reach out to [email protected].

I am looking forward to working with everyone!
