Available until April 28, 2023

Speakers:
Angie Vadnais, MSEA, Senior Consulting Actuary, Pension Benefits Unlimited, Inc.
Lynn Young, FSEA, Partner, Pinnacle Plan Design, LLC

Description: When the Plan Sponsor makes the decision to terminate a plan, quite a few wheels start moving to facilitate the process.  One thing you can be sure of, is the need to be able to pivot as things change.  These could be changes on the Plan Sponsor’s end or dealing with market fluctuations. Setting expectations up front helps with navigating through the termination process from start to finish.  This webcast will focus on challenges we have encountered as we have terminated plans and we will discuss best practices for resolving them.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Review the PBGC plan termination deadlines and rules.
  2. Expand your communication skills in dealing with difficult plan terminations.
  3. Join in discussing various plan termination issues, including significant swings in asset values
