Description: This will discuss the ins and outs of takeovers.  Discussion will include a framework for the actuarial information needed for a smooth transition of actuarial services, including identifying the information to request, gaining an understanding of Rev. Proc. 2017-56 and its applications, and reviewing the Code of Conduct as it pertains to cooperation between actuaries.

About the Speaker:

 

Lorraine Dorsa, MSEA is an Enrolled Actuary and Certified Employee Benefits Specialist, a Fellow of the Conference of Consulting Actuaries and Member of the American Academy of Actuaries and the American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries (ASPPA). She has extensive experience providing defined benefit and cash balance plan design, consulting and actuarial support services to DC plan administrators, TPAs and financial institutions.

Lorraine is a principal at Aegis Pension Services and a frequent speaker at employee benefits conferences including those sponsored by ASPPA, AICPA and other professional associations as well as seminars sponsored by financial institutions, plan sponsors and other groups.

 

 

Charles Brown is an actuary and compliance specialist for Economic Group Pension Services, Inc. (EGPS).  He is an Enrolled Actuary with the Joint Board for the Enrollment of Actuaries (JBEA) and holds the designations of Qualified 401(k) Administrator and Qualified Plan Administrator with the American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries (ASPPA).  He also works as a consultant for TAGData, a division of Wolters Kluwer Law and Business.  In this role he helps clients of TAGData, which are other consulting firms, resolve issues related to Cash Balance and other Defined Benefit Pension Plans.  Charles has been a volunteer with the JBEA as a pre-tester for the EA exams
