EGTRRA Restatements: Tips and Traps

The deadline to restate, and if desired, submit pre-approved DC plans to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) is April 30, 2010. This webcast will identify tips and traps that will help facilitate the entire restatement process. The session will begin with a brief overview of the staggered remedial amendment period to help you identify what the applicable restatement deadline is for an employer. Next, we will review of some of the wins and losses in the IRS review process, including restrictions on cross-testing in prototype plans. Finally, the webcast will walk you though the actual restatement process, including:

  • The actual restatement of plan and the impact on interim amendments;
  • Reliance rules; and
  • Determination letter submissions.

Join IRS officials Angelo Noe, Milo Atlas, and Ingrid Grinde, along with Robert M. Richter of Sungard Corbel, in a discussion of the practical implication of the restatement process.
