STEPHEN H. ROSEN ELECTED ASPPA PRESIDENT November 22, 2004 - (Arlington, Va.) – Stephen H. Rosen, MSPA, CPC, has been elected President of the American Society of Pension Professionals & Actuaries (ASPPA), formerly known as ASPA, for the 2004-2005 term. Rosen is an independent consulting actuary specializing in the design and implementation of qualified retirement plans. A graduate of Rutgers University, he continued his education at the Wharton School and the University of Iowa. Rosen is an Enrolled Actuary, Certified Pension Consultant, a Fellow of the Conference of Consulting Actuaries and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries. He is also the founder and Past President of the ASPPA Benefits Council of the Delaware Valley and continues to serve as one of its board members. During his acceptance speech at the 2004 ASPPA Annual Conference, Rosen said, “During this past year, our board of directors has challenged ASPPA to reach its strategic goal of becoming the premier educator and advocate for retirement plan professionals. By continuing to expand our membership ranks, embrace new volunteer efforts and create vibrant working relationships with our sister organizations, we now have the opportunity of achieving that goal in the very near future.” Rosen is a frequent speaker for tax, insurance and accounting associations; he is a co-author of the ”Accountant’s Guide to Employee Benefit Plans,” a book about the Tax Reform Act of 1984. In addition, Rosen is the author of articles in Taxation for Accountants and the Pennsylvania CPA Journal. Rosen served on the faculty at the Institute of Employee Benefits in Philadelphia and is called upon to offer court testimony as an expert in developing valuations of employee benefits. Stephen H. Rosen & Associates, now in its 22nd year, provides on-going administrative services to more than 650 qualified retirement plans. Rosen is also the founder of Haddon Strategic Alliance, a firm that forms alliances with insurance companies and mutual fund families to provide daily valuation capabilities to retirement plans.
