ASPPA’s 2005 Annual Conference will be held November 6-9, with the 2005 Visit to Capitol Hill being on Tuesday, November 8. All Annual Conference attendees are encouraged to participate.

Congress will definitely be considering tax reform proposals beginning next year. Many of the options to be debated will have a detrimental effect on the employer-sponsored retirement plan system. The options include proposals to eliminate the exclusion of retirement plan contributions from taxable income and to exempt all savings from tax with no incentives for long-term retirement savings.

Your voice must be heard. Congress needs to hear directly from you on how the elimination of the incentives for long-term retirement savings would devastate the future retirement security of working Americans. Only through the employer-sponsored retirement plans system have American workers finally begun to save. With your help we can save America's 401(k).

ASPPA makes this effort very easy. Hill visits do not conflict with Annual Conference sessions and arrangements are made for you, including transportation, lunch and talking points. You just have to get on the bus, arrive and talk about your work to one of your members of Congress. Your voice is needed to communicate that the existing provisions of our nation’s income tax system have helped achieve positive results for retirement savings and deserve to be retained.
