Things I Know Now as a Lawyer…That I Wish I Knew Then as an Administrator
Ilene H. Ferenczy, Esq., CPC, The Law Offices of Ilene H. Ferenczy, LLC
Live on December 8, 2009 from 2:00 p.m.-3:40 p.m. ET

TPAs need to be a little bit of everything: recordkeeper, lawyer, accountant, investment guru and fortune teller! As an attorney, Ilene Ferenczy has had the relatively unique experience of being able to look back on her days as a TPA with a mixture of pride and horror…reliving the times when being a TPA meant that she had the exact mixture of skills to help her clients as no other advisor could, but also remembering times when being a lawyer might have added a little information that would have allowed her to do a better job. Join Ilene as she shares the things that she knows now as a lawyer that she wished that she knew when she was a TPA, as well as the things that she believes TPAs understand better than lawyers and other service providers.
Topics to be discussed include:
• Suggestions of things to tell new administrators that are often overlooked.
• What is tax fraud and why does a TPA care?
• What legal guidance has the hightest authority? What trumps what?
• What can a new TPA do to better satisfy clients?
• What are “ethics” and how do they apply to service providers?
