ASPPA Eastern Regional to Address Benefit Consulting for Tax-Exempts, Governmental Employers, Church Plans

Tax-exempt organizations, governmental employers and churches have different types of options available in order to allow their employees to save for retirement. How do these entities know which option(s) to choose? This question and more will be covered in detail at the ASPPA Eastern Regional Conference to be held April 27-28 in Philadelphia, PA. Early registration for the conference ends this Friday, March 24.

The topic will be the subject of a concurrent workshop to be led by Sue Diehl, President of PenServ Plan Services, Inc., “Benefit Consulting for the Tax-Exempt Organizations, Governmental Employers and Church Plans.” She will address which plan types are available to each entity type and will discuss ways for a TPA or consulting firm to present the options to these employers.

She also will do a deep dive on 403(b) plans, including ERISA vs. non-ERISA plans; 457(b) vs. 457(f) plans; and the application of controlled groups rules to 501(c)(3) organizations. She will provide an update on charter schools and on MEPs, and discuss the structure of multiple plans sponsored by a single employer. And she will discuss the upcoming first-ever ‘RAP’ for 403(b)s and the importance of the new ‘Administrative Appendix.’

The 2017 ASPPA Eastern Regional Conference in Philadelphia has a wide variety of topics and several concurrent workshops from which to choose.
