Handling Participant Claims and Inquiries

Interacting with participants can take many forms, and sometimes seemingly innocuous interactions become the subject of later scrutiny. In the webcast “Handling Participant Claims and Inquiries,” which will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 16 from 2:00 p.m. to 3:40 p.m. EST, Kelsey H. Mayo, an attorney in the Employee Benefits section of the firm Poyner Spruill LLP, will look at a variety of participant inquiries and how they can play into the claims process.

Participants will:

  • discover what documents must be provided upon a participant’s request;
  • understand when a routine inquiry becomes a formal claim and the steps that must be followed in responding to such a claim; and
  • understand the scope of attorney-client privilege and how to use strategies to help clients maintain privilege in the claims process.
