IRS Employee Plans News Highlights Updated Forms, Info

The latest issue of Employee Plans News, which the IRS issued on Sept. 30, provides comprehensive access to information concerning forms, correcting mistakes, plans and more that have been updated since the last issue of the newsletter.

The information that can be accessed through Issue No. 2015-10 includes the following:

  • Form 5500 automatic extensions to file extends to Nov. 15 for 2016 and later calendar year plans

  • 403(b) plans — information on comparing a written plan to its operation and fixing any conflicts

Defined Benefit Plans



  • Information on proposed regulations and temporary regulations on administration of Multiemployer Plan Participant Vote on an Approved Suspension of Benefits Under Multiemployer Pension Reform Act of 2014 (MPRA).

The newsletter also reminds that April 30, 2016, is the deadline for employers using pre-approved retirement plan documents to sign an updated version of their 401(k), profit-sharing or other defined contribution retirement plans.
