Committee Volunteer Pools
Volunteering provides members with a great opportunity for networking, involvement in the organization and a closer look at how ASPPA and their efforts directly affect our industry.  It can also be a pathway to ASPPA leadership positions.

Upon becoming an ASPPA member, the invitation to serve on any combination of four (4) Committee Volunteer Pools associated with the major working committees of ASPPA is extended. These Committees include Conferences, Government Affairs, Education and Membership.  These volunteer pools represent the initial segway into becoming an active participant in any of a variety of standing ASPPA committees related to these four focus areas of ASPPA directly related to various aspects of the retirement plan profession and related public policy.
 
Members are encouraged to participate in these pools to gain a better understanding of the volunteer commitments and the variety of opportunities available. To join a volunteer pool simply select Volunteer and complete the volunteer pool enrollment form. Upon submission you will receive a confirmation and within 3 business days information regarding how to access the volunteer information for your selected committee pools. If at any time you have questions regarding your Committee Volunteer Pool placement, other volunteer opportunities, volunteer commitment, or the volunteer process as a whole, please do not hesitate to contact ASPPA directly at customerservice@asppa.org.


Education Committee Subject Matter Expert (SME)
ASPPA members who select the Education Committee Volunteer Pool are also invited to extend their volunteer opportunity  as a Subject Matter Expert (SME). You will work with other dedicated pension professionals to educate the next generation of administrators, consultants and actuaries. Being a SME in a national association with over 10,000 members can give you a strong marketing edge. SMEs receive ASPPA CE credit each year for their work on the committee.  For more information, click here.

Additional Volunteer Opportunities
In addition to the four (4) Committee Volunteer Pools members can also express interest in assisting ASPPA with the following partners and affiliated endeavors of the organization including ACOPA (ASPPA College of Pension Actuaries) , ABC’s (ASPPA Benefits Councils ) and Plan Consultant Magazine.
