Self Reported CPE Activities
Member requirements for self reported CPE activities. The member is responsible for obtaining written verification of attendance. This documentation must be retained for two years and is self reported on the ASPPA CPE on-line reporting form. In general, 1 CPE credit is equal to 50 minutes of instruction. Partial credit is allowed for fractional minutes provided a 50 minute minimum has been attained.
Conference/Web events such as third party conferences and web-based education may also qualify for ASPPA CPE provided the sponsoring organization follows the ASPPA CPE Guidelines for Sponsors and the member complies with the CPE verification process. For live events, such as conferences and seminars, proof of registration is not adequate for earning CPE credits, the sponsor must verify member attendance at EACH session. For web-based education, such as a webcast, webinar, podcast, webcourse, etc., the sponsor must utilize one of the four methods for attendance verification as more fully described in the CPE Guidelines for Sponsors section. A maximum of 25 CPE credits may be claimed for participation in any single in-house training program completed.
Qualified in-house training programs (i.e., multiple employees and representatives of the same company participating in one or more training sessions) qualify for CPE credit. CPE credits are awarded based on the number of hours of training time devoted to acceptable subject matter topics (one CPE credit for each 50-minute period provided a 50 minute minimum has been attained). A maximum of 25 CPE credits may be claimed for participation in any single in-house training program completed.
If in-house training is utilizing an ASPPA educational offering, please follow CPE guidelines located in the
ASPPA-sponsored Activity section.
Qualified study groups (i.e., attendees from multiple companies participating in local study groups that include
one ASPPA credentialed member) qualify for CPE credit. CPE credits are awarded based on the number of hours of study group time devoted to acceptable subject matter topics (one CPE credit for each 50-minute period provided a 50 minute minimum has been attained). A maximum of 25 CPE credits may be claimed for participation.
If the qualified study group is utilizing an ASPPA educational offering, please follow CPE guidelines located in the
ASPPA-sponsored Activity section.
Non-ASPPA examinations that result in a passing grade, fall within the definition of acceptable subject matter and meet ASPPA Education and Examination Committee requirements may qualify for CPE credit. Self-report CPE credits (up to 15 CPE credits) on online reporting form under non-ASPPA-sponsored activity. Member should retain examination results with CPE verification for two years.
