Qualified In-House Training Programs
CPE Guidelines for Qualified In-House Training Programs
This section is designed for in-house training programs sponsored by employers that qualify for continuing professional education (CPE) credit. The use of audio or video tapes, in lieu of a speaker or instructor, is an acceptable program format. CPE credits are awarded based on the number of hours of training time devoted to acceptable subject-matter topics (one credit/50 minutes). A maximum of 15 credits may be claimed for participation in any single in-house training program completed. ASPPA reserves the right to request additional information to substantiate attendance and evaluate suggested number of continuing professional education credits.
It is not necessary to submit supporting material to the ASPPA office. Simply retain the material for a period of four years (4) following the end of the CPE cycle and produce it only upon specific request to provide such additional information.
There is no pre-approval process for qualified in-house training programs. We ask that the attendee (ASPPA member) and the sponsor of the program comply with the guidelines or requirements. Provided the above criteria are met, the sponsor may make the statement that its program “is designed to meet the CPE requirements of the ASPPA CPE program.”
ASPPA members who have questions about non-ASPPA-sponsored seminars may contact ASPPA Customer Support at asppa@asppa.org or (703) 516-9300.
