Your s’mores will drop in the dirt as practitioners quiver and shake in fear when the scary forfeiture stories start around the dark campfire. What? No longer exempt from top heavy in the safe harbor plan. A takeover with 12 years of forfeitures in the Mr. Forfeiture account. Now it is starting to get a little scary. This webcast will focus on a variety of real-life forfeiture case studies. We will discuss plan document provisions versus administrative decisions. Forfeiture corrections and restoring non-vested amounts for buybacks.

Key Takeaways:
  • Discuss forfeiture issues involving conflicts between plan document provisions and administrative decisions
  • Summarize forfeiture rules, including the distribution by the second year rule and buybacks
  • Correct forfeitures of a plan that have been unallocated for years
