ABOUT THE SPEAKERS

Michael B. Preston, FSPA, MAAA, EA is the president of ACOPA and has as served as Editor-in-Chief of The ASPPA Journal (now Plan Consultant), served for six years on ASPPA's Board of Directors, been a member of the Pension Committee of the Actuarial Standards Board for four years and been a member of ASPPA for more than 25 years. He is also a member of the American Academy of Actuaries and is an enrolled actuary. In addition to speaking at many ASPPA conferences, he has spoken multiple times at the Enrolled Actuaries' meeting, a number of NIPA annual conferences and at some of the annual meetings of various Western Pension & Benefit Conference chapters as well as for the Beverly Hills Bar Association. His firm offers full-service pension administration. Mike has served as an expert witness in quite a few ERISA related actions.

Mark Dunbar, MSPA, is president of Dunbar, Bender & Zapf, Inc., a Pittsburgh consulting firm, founded in 1991.  He is also a past board member of ASPPA's Board of Directors and a past President of ACOPA.

David M. Lipkin, FSA, EA, MSPA, is a Consulting Actuary with Metro Benefits, Inc., a firm he founded in 1986. He began his career in 1977 with Aetna Life and Casualty. In 1983, David moved to William M. Mercer, where he served on the Actuarial Committee and acted as Senior Actuary and Consultant to a variety of clients, including a number of Fortune 500 companies. Metro Benefits, Inc.’s commitment to provide clear, comprehensive and worry-free service has made it one of the region's fastest growing companies in the field. David has been selected by the U.S. Department of Labor to serve as an "Independent Fiduciary" for many orphan/abandoned plans. He was elected in 2005 to ASPPA’s Board of Directors, and served as a co-chairperson of ASPPA’s Government Affairs Committee from 2006 until 2010.
